AIOS Import/Export Settings post shows you how to export and import your settings. Also provides some troubleshooting steps.

This documentation shows you how to export your settings. It also helps you troubleshoot import/export feature to make sure it is working as expected in your site.

Note: The import process works in the following manner. If you change or loose your settings then you can import the settings you exported earlier. However if you see the following message Import AIOS settings from file operation failed!, that means there is no changes in the plugin settings and the import is not needed.

 What you need:

Step 1 ) Go to WP Security -> Settings -> Import/Export as illustrated in the image below to import and export the plugins settings.

Step 2 ) The following image allows you to export your settings locally. This saves you a lot of time especially if you are going to implement the same settings on many websites.

  • Click on Export AIOWPS Settings button as illustrated in the following image. This allows you to export your settings locally to your computer/laptop.

Step 3 ) The following image Import AIOWPS Settings allows you to carry out the following options.

  • Click on Select Your Import Settings File button.
  • You can also choose to Copy/Paste Import Data:.
  • Click on Import AIOWPS Settings button as illustrated in the following image. This allows you to import your settings.

Troubleshooting Steps

To make sure this feature is working as expected in your site, carry out the following troubleshooting steps.

TS 1 ) Click on Export AIOWPS Settings button as illustrated in the image below.

Note: Your settings will be exported locally to your computer/laptop.

TS 2 ) Then click on Import AIOWPS Settings button to see what happens. Remember at this stage you have not made any changes to your settings. If it is working as expected, you should see the following error message.

The file you uploaded was also deleted for security purposes because it contains security settings details.

TS 3 ) Then disable one of your features. It does not matter which one.

TS 4 ) Then click on Select Your Import Settings File button as illustrated in the image below.

TS 5 ) Then click on Select Files button as illustrated in the image below. This allows you to upload the file you exported previously to your computer/laptop.

TS 6 ) Then select your exported file from your computer/laptop and click on Open button as illustrated in the image below.

Note: The name of your file will be different.

all-in-one-wp-security-click-openTS 7 ) Then click on File URL button. Your file URL should be inserted into Link URL field as illustrated in the image below. Once all this is done, click on Insert into Post button.

TS 8 ) Then click on Import AIOWPS Settings button as illustrated in the image below.

TS 9 ) If everything goes well you should see the following message as illustrated in the image below.

Your AIOWPS settings were successfully imported. The file you uploaded was also deleted for security purposes because it contains security settings details.
