I am currently helping out in wordpress forums. I am also helping out with English to Spanish plugin translations in wordpress.

I am currently managing the following wordpress projects. The work I carry out is, SEO optimization, server administration, website management, security optimization, maintenance, backups and updates.

Worked casually for TAD “Technical Careers & Contracts” on contract basis. Main duties carried out, repairing PC’s, troubleshooting office network, setting up new broadband internet accounts and wireless. Troubleshooting, software installations and security.

Worked on a part time basis for BLC “Brisbane Learning Centre” as a trainer. Teaching in Cert III and Cert IV in network and PC Support.

Port Of Brisbane SOE PROJECT / LEVEL 2 SUPPORT

Main duties, working with the Applications Packager and the IT Manager to assist with the delivery of an MOE rollout.  Provide Level 2 Help Desk & Desktop support to approximately 250 users.

Summary of Duties:

  • Organising ready made MSI’s and installing packages into Altiris Client Management Suite ready for deployment to the client and troubleshooting at a desktop level (e.g. to ensure the drivers work for sound card, video card, wireless etc )
  • Research for inconsistencies and issues with  ready made images installed in desktops and laptops
  • Work closely with team members to provide solutions in a timely manner
  • Revising, editing and updating the altiris manual in accordance with PBC’s environment
  • Adding and editing users using Active Directory
  • Assisting with the rollout to the business and troubleshooting any issues
  • Support a Windows XP Standard Operating Environment (SOE) by installing software, deploying images and packages and testing
  • Research ready made images and
  • Once rollout is complete, undertaking Level 2 support duties in a Help Desk & Desktop environment working with an existing staff member

28 April 2006 – 28 July 2006  Brisbane City Council ICT Technical Support Officer

The primary purpose of this role was to provide support to the BSQ Relocation Support Project Manager and Council’s Asset Management Team, to identify CRT screens to be replaced with 17” LCD and 19” LCD screens for those divisions and business units that are relocating into BSQ.

Summary of Duties:

  • Compile a CRT replacement report and verify by conducting an audit
  • Submit a council purchase order for 17” LCD and 19” LCD screens (amount to be determined by the report)
  • Install and configure onto the desktop the new 17” LCD and 19” LCD screens
  • Pack the replaced CRT screens into boxes in preparation for the council’s disposal collection process
  • Organise and supervise with BCC couriers the picking up of the monitors
  • Run a pilot test to test the network in the new building. The test included 4 workstations, 1 printer and 1 laptop. The test was carried out while building a new image and installing software to all machines
  • Document, audit and sign the pilot test for reviewing by the project manager

Other project sub-related activities:

  • Identify MFD’s “Multi-Functional-Devices” and varying network printers from areas outside the BAC.  (I.e.  Acaia Ridge Depot) this required working with councils Asset Management Team and iDivision’s LAN Printer Specialist.
  • Coordinate with iDivion the connection and reliability of MFD’s ready for relocation for the move
  • Coordinate a small team to replace the stands to 250 stands and pack the old stand and store it in the furniture store ready to be picked up by the BCC couriers

During the period in Yeronga TAFE, I was involved in the preparation of exams, exercises, documentation and reports in the activities carried out in the SPLC room. I completed an induction, which complies with education regulations. Policies and procedures were carried out by the SPLC team in accordance to the Education Department. At all times the standards and working ethics were conducted with the upmost professionalism as to the guidelines set up in the SPLC room in accordance with management. I was involved in meetings to provide feedback to management and teachers related to the performance of the students and the SPLC room.

Summary of Duties:

  • Teach Justice, Business, Sport and Recreation and Lab technicians students Microsoft Office applications i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
  • Teach how to access the Internet and Desktop Publishing to outside students

I have been working in IT since 1999 and I enjoy the challenges it brings me. I love developing websites with WordPress. I spend a lot of time helping out in wordpress.org forums. I have been writing tutorials since 2011. Now I am learning how to manage my own VPS "Virtual Private Server.
