In this post you will learn how to install ClassiPress theme for the first time. You will also activate and install AppTheme Updater plugin that checks the themes background and reports when an update is available.
How To Install WordPress ClassiPress Theme
Step 1 ) After purchasing the theme from AppThemes site, you will receive the link to download your copy locally to your computer or laptop. Then you need to upload and install the theme like you normally do in WordPress. The following URL How To Install WordPress Theme shows you how to install a Theme.

Step 2 ) Once you activate the theme, you will see the following settings added to your admin dashboard. See image below.

Step 3 ) The following image shows you the message displayed once you have activated the theme. These messages are letting you know what needs to be done before you begin setting up ClassiPress theme.
ClassiPress Extra Steps
- You need to install the AppTheme Updater plugin to keep ClassiPress up to date.
- You need to disable WordPress login.
Step 3-a ) The following image shows you the message you receive after you install AppThemes Updater plugin. Before the plugin starts working you need to enter your API key. Click on enter your API key link and it will take you to your AppTheme account login. Once you enter your API Key in the field provided, click on Save Settings button.
Step 3-b ) The following image shows you the message displayed after you enter the API Key and save the settings. It is a good idea to click on Check Now button to see if there are any updates available for ClassiPress theme.
Step 4 ) The following information displayed in Step 3 ) above, requires ClassiPress to control and hide the standard WordPress login page.
The default WordPress login page is still accessible.
After you ensure that permalinks on your site are working correctly and you are not using any “maintenance mode” plugins, please disable it in your theme settings.
Step 4-a ) To disable the login page click on theme settings or go to ClassiPress -> Settings -> Advanced and enable Disable Login Page. Once this feature is enabled the message will disappear.
