Office 2003 crashes Lenovo T61 running Windows 7. This is just a simple solution I found that worked for me.

Latest News: I fixed a broken link.

Note: This is an old solution, you should be running Windows 10. Office 2003 is also very old and I don’t recommend you running this old version any more. You should be looking at Office 2013 and above.

I had this problem with office 2003 it kept crashing and I spent quite some time looking through forums for an answer. I know that many are already using Office 2010 or Office 2013. But back at the time of this writing I was still using Office 2003. I know some of you might be still using this version. I have now moved forward and purchased Office 2013.

I was going to uninstall all the drivers that I thought could be causing this problem. One by one I started uninstalling the drivers but lucky for me I managed to pick the culprit driver in the first go. Talk about luck. I finally found the answer to my problem and it was the latest Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II drivers for Lenovo T61 thinkpad.

If you are experiencing something similar to the above problem then I suggest that you uninstall the driver I mentioned above. In some cases there might be other drivers that could be causing the same problem. Also let me mention that running old software that probably Microsoft no longer support can cause other issues in the future. Not to mention the security risk factor.

If you have the cash then I suggest that you invest in the latest Office version. I am sure you will find one version that suits your budget.

Good luck
