Latest News: I have updated some broken and slow links.

The following tutorials are only a few tutorials from the many you will find on the Internet:

  • This WordPress plugin imports your Joomla 1.5 articles into WordPress, click on the following link Joomla 1.5 Importer. Remember this plugin does not work with Joomla 1.6 and greater versions. It might be upgraded in the future but for now it only works on Joomla 1.5 (This no longer applies because Joomal 1.5 is too old. You should be already running Joomla 3.0 and above.)
  • This tutorial by Donna, will show you how to convert a static html website to WordPress, click on the following link https://www.donnafontenot.com/how-to-convert-a-static-html-site-to-wordpress/. The WordPress plugin HTML Import 2, has been upgraded since the tutorial was written.
  • This tutorial convert a html template into WordPress by Drew Strojny, shows you step by step and it is very informative. It is a bit involved so it is not for anyone who has no HTML or web developing knowledge however if you are wanting to learn then go ahead and be challenged.
  • This tutorial convert a static website to WordPress by David Cooley is mainly for small websites of about 10 web pages. He does have another tutorial showing you how to convert larger websites into WordPress.
  • This tutorial click on the following link Install WordPress, shows you how to install WordPress on a server and locally using wamp server.
  • GoWordPress Migrate services offer the following: A complete set of migration services to convert your Drupal site to WordPress (migration from Joomla, PHP-nuke, a custom CMS… also possible).

What if you want to design your own WordPress theme and you don’t really want to download any free or paid theme. This excellent online theme creator by Yvo Schaaps, allows you to design a theme with various options.

I will be updating this list from time to time. If you have a link you think should be added please let me know.
