The Internet world and the physical world, what do they have in common? Well think about it, in the last decade or so we have seeing a huge change in the way we live. We spend more time on the Internet navigating and searching for information or even buying products online. We also spend plenty of time communicating with loved ones and friends through e-mail, facebook, myspace etc. It is easy to loose yourself while online, don’t worry it happens to me :) Now you might ask yourself what does this have to do with the physical world? Well let me tell you that the obesity crisis has risen in the last decade all over the world for various factors and one of them is the Internet. We are not exercising enough and we are not eating properly. We spend too much time on the Internet, we rush home from work or school and most of the time the first thing we do is connect to the internet. I know that some don’t do this but a large number of people do including me :). We need to spend more time admiring the beauty of nature and life.

What I am trying to say here is that it is ok to spend some time in front of the computer navigating around the Internet but at the same time you should try to get up at least every 2 hours and walk around or do something else, drink some water, eat something, have a look outside if it is daylight etc etc. Don’t spend too much time in front of the computer looking at a screen. Try and do more outside activities, go fishing, bush walking, dancing, mountain climbing, cycling, swimming, go out for coffee and have a chat. I am sure that you can think of plenty more activities that you can do.

I hope this helps you and convinces you to take action, so what are you still doing in front of the computer ;)? Get up and do something else….

I have been working in IT since 1999 and I enjoy the challenges it brings me. I love developing websites with WordPress. I spend a lot of time helping out in wordpress.org forums. I have been writing tutorials since 2011. Now I am learning how to manage my own VPS "Virtual Private Server.
