KompoZer is a great open source free html editor I have been using for a few years. If you are looking for an html editor free of charge then look no further. KompoZer is a great choice for you to use. It is still in beta version 0.8b3 but more stable than it’s predecessor NVU, which is no longer supported.

Finally, here you have a top-notch WYSIWYG web page program to use for all those who have a strict budget or feel that there is no need to pay big dollars for something they know can be achieved using free html editors.

It’s editing capabilities compares with big name editors in the field like Microsoft FrontPage, Adobe DreamWeaver and other high end programs.

Because it is still in beta version and it has a few bugs I use pspad to help with the code. Both compliment each other very well. KompoZer allows you to use an external editor and then save it and view it in KompoZer. Another great factor about this great editor is that you can run it within its own folder, so you don’t have to install it in your computer. Simply download the zip version and extract it to a folder or external usb drive. It becomes a powerful portable web designer software that you can carry with you in your usb memory stick.

Deleting WordPress Revisions

Have you ever wondered why you have so many revisions on your wordpress blog. Do you feel like there are too many revisions per posts or pages? That can become over whelming and cause the data base to increase in size as your blog grows. Well the solution is to install revison control plugin and set it up according to your requirements. This will make your life much easier and your blog will not become cluttered with so many revisions. I have tested this plugin in my blog running wordpress version 3.0.1 and with the current plugins installed it runs smooth with no issues.

Try to install the plugin from the beginning of your blog if you have already started your blog then that is ok. The reason why I am saying this is because it is easier to troubleshoot any plugins clashing with other plugins from the beginning of your blog then later on when you have so many plugins added. Most important if you can have a second testing blog created then that would also make your life much simpler.

This is a very clean way of editing your database without having to login into your back-end and physically delete or remove some code from wordpress and or mysql database.

Hint: It is very important to backup your wordpress especially your database just in case something goes wrong.

Did you know that virtual pc 2007 is a simple way to maintain your system secured. Imaging all you have to do is setup Microsoft virtual pc 2007, run it while you are connected to the internet and you never have to worry any more about security or virus issues. Run a virtual pc session and once you have finished just revert back to the original starting point. This means that what ever happens during your virtual session does not affect the original image once you revert back to the starting point. No virus can ever damage your base system as you are running a virtual session. This is a good method to implement if you have friends that would like to use your computer or even your own children. They will never know that they are running a virtual session.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium running and have installed virtual pc 2007 and currently I run Windows 2000 professional.  Yes I know it is an old operating system but I always liked Windows 2000 professional.  And before I forget you can even run a linux session for all those linux lovers.

So why don’t you click on virtual pc 2007 and download the version for your operating system. Install it and try it out I am sure that you will enjoy it. If you need some help drop in a line and I will guide you.

Hint: Remember you have to have another copy of windows to install for example Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7 and you should have enough ram to allow for the virtual machine to run well without affecting your current system.
